Holidays???

So who is ready for the holidays? NOT ME! It just seems like yesterday we were eating Turkey and going Christmas shopping. I tell myself every year that I am going to start Christmas shopping early, and every year I find myself doing it at the last second. Holiday's are just crazy around here. Yes, its fun being around family, but stressful at the same time.

So here are some quick notes to help you and I to get through the holidays!

1. Create realistic expectations -- don't try to make this the perfect holiday

2. Learn to say "no" to extra obligations that might stress you out.

3. Take short relaxation breaks to let go of tension.

4. Get involved in a volunteer activity where you help others.

5. Tap into your natural creativity and create a hand-made gift.

My top 5 list comes from: http://www.self-guided.com/articles/holidaystresstips.htm

Until then, Peace Out!

Okay..I am back! Just been a little busy......So much is going on that I have so much to talk about! LOL

First I will start off with Politics...Don't forget to vote November 2008! Your vote can be the one to pick the next President of The United States!!! I came across a funny website, you should check it out! http://www.indecision2008.com But once your doing browsing the funny site check out John Edwards. I am hoping and praying that he will be the next President.

1. Standing Up For Regular Families
2.Restoring America's Leadership Role In The World
3.Investing In Our Future And Our Communities
4. Require Troops to be Ready....We should prohibit funding for any new troops that do not meet real readiness standards and that have not been properly trained and equipped. American tax dollars should be used to train and equip our troops, not to escalate the war. --John Edwards

My favorite quote: We don't need debate; we don't need non-binding resolutions; we need to end this war. In order to get the Iraqi people to take responsibility for their country, we must show them that we are serious about leaving, and the best way to do that is to actually start leaving." -- John Edwards

There is no military solution to the chaos in Iraq. Instead, the Iraqi people must solve the problem politically by taking responsibility for their country. --John Edwards

You might say why end the WAR? My opinion and my opinion only....Iraq did not fly planes into the Twin Towers, Iraq did not have weapons of mass destruction, WHAT DID IRAQ do to us? Al Quaida did all of that! I really don't see the reasoning behind the WAR? What good is it doing? If anything we need to be in WAR with IRAN! IRAN is the one supplying funds to IRAQ and Al Quaida. As John Edward says we need to be friends with everyone....We are the riches nation on this EARTH and we have turned our back on everyone.

Okay....enough of Politics.....

What in the world are we going to do about those writers in Hollywood? If you don't know the writers of very popular shows are on strike! The writers went on strike against major film and television studios on Monday. They are upset that they are not getting money for online, ipods, downloads etc for their shows.

So, don't be surprised if one of your favorite shows are showing reruns. I know that Jay Leno is showing reruns!

I am a huge Desperate Housewifes fan and they will be going to reruns after this Sunday's show!

And one more thing before signing off....

Get ready for OCTOBER ROAD! I will be posting another blog with that comes on! Just three more weeks! So get READY..................Here is just a little bio that I got off of ABC.com

About the Show
Can you ever really go home again? That's the question that confronts acclaimed novelist Nick Garrett when he returns home after being away for ten years. Once back home on October Road, he quickly discovers that the circle of friends whose teenaged lives he wrote about have since settled into blue collar careers and started families. Nick became a New York literary success by writing about those early years, and he had Hollywood heavyweights lining up for roles. With his editor putting pressure on him for a follow-up, he finds himself at a crossroads... and with serious writer's block. Then comes an offer to teach a one-day course at Dufresne College, the small liberal arts school in his hometown of Knights Ridge, Massachusetts. Hoping to tap back into that which initially inspired him, he decides to head back. Nick has had no contact with his family or the close-knit group of friends he said goodbye to shortly after high school graduation. He burned that connection when he used them as characters in his successful novel and, in the process, cast their lives in a less than flattering light. Consequently, the hometown response to his return is less than festive. Nick's friends include best friend Eddie Latekka, who is disappointed that Nick abandoned their dream of starting a business together; there's also the good-hearted and straightforward Owen Rowan, whose family life appears the picture of perfection; the well-meaning but sometimes obnoxious Ikey; and Physical Phil, a lovable recluse since 9/11 who has adapted to living his life indoors. Before he left town, Nick told his high school girlfriend, Hannah Daniels, that he'd be back in six weeks. Now ten years later, the jilted but never-married Hannah has decided to forget Nick's unfulfilled promise and moved on with her life. She is a single mom raising her nine-year-old son, the bright and charming Sam. Hannah is involved with Ray "Big Cat" Cataldo, the former high school bully whose mission in life has been to bestow misery on the lives of Nick and his friends.Nick makes a new friend when he meets Aubrey, a pretty college student and fledgling writer whose Bohemian style intrigues him. While he sorts things out, he moves into his childhood home with his father, a widower affectionately referred to as The Commander.Nick realizes he has several reasons for staying in Knights Ridge. He wants to apologize to everyone for whatever broken promises he may have made, and to make up for how he portrayed them in his book. He also sees coincidences indicating that Hannah's son, Sam, might be his.Although Nick doesn't regret fulfilling his mother's dying wish of experiencing life outside of Knights Ridge, he finds himself oddly wanting to tie up loose ends at home, but realizes the path ahead of him is a rocky one. In spite of any love bruised or lost between his friends and family, Nick embraces the familiarity of his former life and struggles to be included again among those he let down. "October Road" stars Bryan Greenberg as Nick Garrett, Laura Prepon as Hannah Daniels, Tom Berenger as The Commander, Warren Christie as Ray "Big Cat" Cataldo, Brad William Henke as Owen Rowan, Evan Jones as Ikey, Jay Paulson as Physical Phil, Slade Pearce as Sam Daniels, Geoff Stults as Eddie Latekka and Odette Yustman as Aubrey.

CNN...God Warriors?

Every night before I tuck myself into bed or read a few e-mails or surf the web, I always watch CNN News. Not sure about everyone else, but I think it's awesome to have CNN! I am a huge News Junkie. Anyways.....

How lucky do I feel that I live in America? I feel damn lucky. Tonight's show was over Iran. You know that evil country on the other side of Iraq. I just don't understand how their country is still allowed to treat women like DOGS. Doesn't make sense to me. Here in America we are able to have women as Judges, Lawyers, Doctors, and even have a woman Senator run for President. However in Iran the men do not look at women. Nor do they show any affection towards women in public. The women have to wear their"Hijab". Hijab is is the Arabic term for "cover". They have to wear this out into public at all times. I am sure you have seen them around here in the USA. Which I don't think they should wear them here. They have freedom here, why do they do it? I just don't get it. Do you?

One segment of the show they did say that some women in Iran were trying to take them off. The women in Iran are getting stronger and stronger each and everyday to stand up for what they think is right. They showed one lady getting arrested. The lady was kicking and screaming.
Again, I just don't get it!
And you know what? Another thing that gets under my skin is that you have these people that are from Iran, Iraq etc., that come to America and they complain about how America is wrong, or should do this or do that, but yet they are forgetting they are in our COUNTRY....If they don't like how we run things then LEAVE.
My point for this blog is just remember that we all need to be PROUD to BE AMERICANS! Be thankful that we are able to choose where to work, what to wear, and go from point A to point B without having to answer to anyone.
Remember to Vote in 2008!

Until then...Peace OUT!

President Bush..Just don't get it!!!

Okay, so I was reading my http://www.democraticunderground.com/ blog and I came across a good POINT!!!

Before I start I would just like to say that my heart felt thoughts and prayers go out to the families that were part of the Minnesota Interstate 35W bridge that collapsed on Wednesday. And to think OUR WONDERFUL PRESIDENT could have saved the bridge!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bush Administration Killed Increased Highway Repairs In 2004

When a bipartisan majority in Congress suggested increasing the federal excise tax on gasoline back in 2004 for the first time since 1993 to pay for road and bridge projects, the White House threatened to veto the measure because it contained a tax increase. At the time, the White House said they would not support any increase in federal gas taxes to pay for road improvements, and then said that highway needs must be met solely through the existing, woeful level of funding in the highway fund and not the general fund, a position that by all accounts within Congress and among transportation experts shortchanged our true needs to the tune of several hundred billion dollars.
But the White House says "let's not politicize this", like they did to cover up their negligence after Katrina.

My views on the above article:

How in the world is this man still able to sit in the highest chair in America? When Bill Clinton shacked up with Monica Lewinsky the Republicans were trying to impeach him for his wrong doings. Yes, I think its wrong for a married man to have an affair, but however it was none of our business as to went on between President Clinton and the famous Monica Lewinsky! Okay, maybe he shouldn't have lied, but was it hurting our COUNTRY? For example: tax payers money, bridge repairs etc...??? NO, it was not!

I could go on and on, but however I am not going to wast my breath on a President that is going down as THE WORST PRESIDENT IN AMERICA!!!

VOTE FOR JOHN EDWARDS '08

This is just my honest opinion!

Until then...Peace OUT!
